    Who can apply for scholarships?
All students who are enrolled in the current semester at Grossmont/Cuyamaca College can apply for scholarships during the application period. Please note that in order to receive most GCCCD campus-based scholarships, you must be returning to Grossmont/Cuyamaca Colleges the following semester.

    How do I apply?
During the application period, you can apply by clicking here to access our scholarship system. From there, all applicants will need to create a Blackbaud ID account using your email address associated with Self-Service. Upon signing up, you will receive a confirmation email to ensure your identity. Check your spam folder for this email. Once you have confirmed your account, you can access your scholarship application. The system will prompt you through the process.

    How does it work?
Each available scholarship has a different set of criteria, including, but not limited to:
         -Major
         -GPA
         -Number of units currently enrolled
         -Number of units completed
         -Financial need
         -Involvement in campus programs/Community service

When you complete just one simple scholarship application, you will automatically be matched to the scholarship opportunities that you qualify for.

Once you submit your application, three separate reviewers will give your application a score. The three reviewer scores are averaged. Applicants with the top reviewer scores will be selected to receive scholarships/participate in next steps for special scholarship opportunities.

    Why can't I log in/create my account?
    Common reasons include:
-You haven't created a Blackbaud ID
-You are not enrolled in the current semester at Grossmont/Cuyamaca College
-You have made too many attempts to log into your account - wait 15 minutes for the system to unfreeze your account
-You haven't clicked on the confirmation email to activate your account
-You are using a duplicate email address
-You are trying to create a new account outside of the application window

How can I reset my password?
If you need to reset your password, click here then type in your email address, and click on the "Recover Password" button.

How do I update my home location and major with Admissions and Records?
Meet with a counselor to update your major and home location. Please make an appointment as soon as possible to avoid any issues with receiving a potential scholarship award.

How will my application be scored?
Reviewers will score your responses to the Essay and Career Goals questions. Your application will be scored based on a variety of rubrics, including effort, grammar, and how well the applicant followed instructions. Remember, scholarships are earned and not guaranteed, so put your best effort into your application. Applicants submitting responses directly from AI sources will be disqualified.

How will I know if I am awarded a scholarship?
You will receive an email letting you know if you were selected to receive a scholarship. You can also log into your AcademicWorks account. Scholarships are contingent upon enrollment in the following semester by the deadline listed above.

Can I get help on my application?
Definitely! We encourage you to reach out to family, friends, instructors, staff, or mentors to look over your application. You can also schedule an appointment with a financial aid advisor or attend a workshop on campus.

Where can I see a list of available scholarships?
When the scholarship application is open, you can see a full list of available scholarships on the Academicworks homepage. This list is subject to change throughout the semester, but we generally offer around 300 scholarship opportunities per semester.

How can I spend my scholarship funds?
You can spend your scholarship funds on tuition, books, materials, transportation and food…anything that will help you get through the semester.

    How are scholarships funded?
Scholarships are funded via your preferred payment method in Bank Mobile. If you have questions regarding Bank Mobile, please reach out to your college's Financial Aid department. Scholarships are contingent upon enrollment in the following semester by the deadline listed above, as well as meeting all the scholarship's criteria.
